The Inca history still keeps infinity of secrets. One of them is Choquequirao: the one known as the last Inca bastion and sister citadel of Machu Picchu is still a mystery to researchers in this South American culture.
Choquequirao is located northeast of the Impressive Canyon of the Apurímac which surrounds the archaeological group on the left side. The Archaeological Park of Choquequirao offers a wide variety of ecological floors and an impressive diversity of flora and fauna. Therefore, we recommend that you have the camera ready to capture the natural beauty of this important route.
Our driver and Guide will pick you up from your hotel at 5:00 a.m. We will drive for 3 hours to Cachora town where we will have our breakfast while our staff will prepare the equipment on mules and horses. From Cachora there is a walk of 4 hours until our lunch spot where we will enjoy a delicious meal and the views of majestic Padrayoc snow covered peaks, at 5482 meters the highest of the area. The hike on this first day is 21km or 8 hours approx. On the way we will see the snow covered peaks
towards Cachora (4 hours approx.) the starting point of the trek where we meet our horsemen and horses. Then we start our hike climbing for 2 hours approx. to Capuliyoc where may we enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. We continue after Capuliyoc, descending for two more hours to Chiq
